So here it goes.

1. I am completely obsessed with game shows. My favorites are Match Game, Let's Make a Deal and the Price is Right when Bob Barker was the host. Older game shows are much better, the best being from the 70's. The hosts were classy and dashing, the contestants weren't there to be on TV, and they were written better.

2. I am a practicing Christian, currently being confirmed (probably would not have guessed, right? :). I see confirmation as becoming a member of Christianity. I think there is much to gain from most religions, and it is easiest for me to gain from Christianity at this point in my life.

3. I love shopping at vintage stores! While they are occasionally rumored to house fleas, they make one's wardrobe quite unique for much less the buck from your wallet. I always check for high wasted items and vests.

4. While most of the time I consider myself too lazy to cook, I love to cook on occasion. I think it is important to nourish the body, and indulge every so often. I recently found a recipe on this website http://www.tastespotting.com/ that houses some of the most delicious recipes I have ever seen. The one I currently want to try is for easy ice cream. Apparently if you blend frozen bananas, it makes a delicious, creamy ice cream! The best ones to use are browning bananas, and you can add in honey and peanut butter. Sounds delicious! (Recipe here - http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/stay-cool/how-to-make-creamy-ice-cream-with-just-one-ingredient-093414 )

5. I am a movie buff. I love cult classics and quirky comedies. Some of my favorites are Little Miss Sunshine, the Royal Tenenbaums, Away We Go, Napoleon Dynamite, Slumdog Millionare, and basically countless others.

6. I am terrified by preparing for the future. College is so daunting. It's not so much picking a college, but getting into it. And then there's the tremendous cost and SAT's. It's pretty much horrible. Sometimes I feel like I can tackle it and look up scholarships, but most of the time I can't even think about it all.

7. I have a very strange sense of music. While most people become very attached to a few artists and learn everything about them, I just become attached to songs. I do like some artists a lot, but mostly I just listen to a handful of their songs a great number of times. I like the Velvet Underground, Crystal Castles, Bob Marley, Justice, and a vast number of other songs.

Haha, this image ties in both 4 and 7 very well.

8. I like inspirational quotes, mostly from Buddha, Ghandi, or the Tao Te Jing. I feel like their messages are amazing ones that we can all continue to benefit from today.

9. Eating out is probably one of my favorite things to do. Some of my favorite restaurants are Jason's Deli, the Cheesecake Factory, Cocoa's Cafe, Kat's Deli, and many others. I hope to work at Chili's when I get my license because I know the menu so well.

10. I like to read the newspaper. My favorites are the Wall Street Journal and the Economist. Next year I am going to be a co-editor of the news section for my high school's paper.

So I know this post was completely random and not like anything else I've posted. I'll try to put up more of that normal writing. But I hope you enjoyed it.

Faith

"Every human being is the author of his own health or disease."
- Buddha

I have learned that we must have faith in ourselves. If we depend on others for our own happiness or state of being, we are putting our souls out there to get hurt. When we do that, we let our entire existence depend on other's choices - something we are not put on this earth to do. We have to take care of ourselves - nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits. These three are greatly linked. If we do take care of those parts of our existence, our lives will be so much easier and so much more worthwhile.
We have the power to control our own destiny. We are each put on this earth with a purpose for this lifetime, a reason for living. It is our mission to complete this or these purposes. And each of us can sense our purpose, we get hints and strong feelings from our souls as to what we must do. I still have only faint ideas as to what I am meant to do during this lifetime, but I do know I am meant to help others and have an positive impact on humanity. If we keep an open mind, open ourselves up to the world, live in the present, and feed our spirits; our lives will unfold the way they are destined to. We truly are the author of our own lives - be it for the best, or for the worst. We have to have faith in our ability to do so.

Buddha Spread

A little bit of Clarity by shivermetimbers0ne on Polyvore.com

A Little Enlightenment

Most people know how important it is to savor the little things in life. The view during a car ride, the taste of a chocolate delicacy, the enjoyment of a late night television program. We are all subconsciously drawn to live in the moment and appreciate what we have in life. And each of us knows the importance of doing so.

We are not meant to constantly spew and worry. We are supposed to appreciate what we have now, what is around us. We are meant to live in the now, connect with everything that is going on around us.

When we desire, hate and jealously follows. The only way to override desire, what I believe we all must do to live happy lives, is to live in the now. We must not think about our actions, but to let our actions come naturally without having to think about them. This is the way to reach harmony and allow your spirit to be enlightened.

Buddha the Beautiful

"Believe nothing,
no matter where you read it,
or who said it,
no matter if I have said it,
unless it agrees with your own reason
and your own common sense."

- Buddha
